Testimonials: Diana's Story
"A few years ago I became very ill with emphysema, and depression really set in. About a year ago, Amanda approached me about trying some creative journaling, feeling this might be very helpful for me to use these techniques to work through my illness and depression. At that point I was willing to try anything. I worked (one-on-one) with Amanda for a while and I've attended several of her workshops."
"In the beginning, I felt somewhat like a child, but as time went on I felt I was really beginning to work from deep down. I must say, at the start of this, I was 'arts & crafty', but not what I would call an artist. I am happy to say that I have painted my first three paintings ever and I am so proud. Thank you, Amanda, for helping me get my creative juices flowing. This is great stuff."
-Diana Bacher
I've known Diana for many years and I feel grateful for the chance to have worked with her. She is the perfect example of someone who has used a great challenge as an opportunity for growth and insight. She is using these tools diligently, with beautiful and surprising results. The top three pictures (below) are Creative Journal entries - the cougar was drawn from her hospital bed when she needed to get in touch with an inner strength, which she later said was a turning point in her creativity, and the bottom picture is her second painting! It has been an immense pleasure to see her creativity blossom and observe how CJEA has had an impact on her life.
